Alik Sargsyan Left Armenia When Documents for His Sand Mine in Ranchpar Were to Be Examined

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "During Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to the village of Ranchpar in the Ararat region on Saturday, the issue of 'unbridled and irrational' exploitation of sand mines in the village was addressed. Following the visit, the Committee of Real Estate Cadastre has begun investigations related to the operation of sand mines in Ranchpar.

"In addition to examining the permit documents for exploitation, representatives of the monitoring division will visit the site if necessary," the cadastre informed the day before. It is noteworthy that on the day the cadastre decided to begin examining the permit documents for exploitation, mine owner Alik Sargsyan left Armenia.

Yesterday, he told our reporter that he has not been in Armenia for two days and does not wish to speak on the subject. "I know one thing, that whatever happens in this country, it's linked to me," he said. When asked, "So the mine is not yours?" he did not respond, reiterating that he does not want to talk about it.

It is noted that, according to media reports, part of the sand mines in the Ararat Plain is operated by Alik Sergeych and his relative, the village mayor of Ranchpar, who has gone underground, while another part is operated by the family of Hovik Abrahamyan. There are reports that Ararat's revolutionary governor, Garik Sargsyan, has his eyes on these mines."
