Judges Targeted by Artak Zeynalyan: 'Zhoghovurd'
'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports: According to sources from 'Zhoghovurd' daily, the Minister of Justice of Armenia, Artak Zeynalyan, has set his sights on 11 judges from the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of Armenia. Zeynalyan is set to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the 11 judges, including the President of the Supreme Court, Ervand Khudkaryan, and ten other judges.
In response to our inquiries, Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan stated that he will refrain from comment as, according to Article 147, Clause 9 of the constitutional law 'Judicial Code,' the initiating body is required to ensure the confidentiality of disciplinary proceedings.
Among the judges mentioned is Stepain Mikayelyan, as a citizen has even lodged a complaint against him with the minister. 'No proceedings have been initiated; a citizen approached the Minister of Justice, and the minister sent us questions, to which we provided our explanations,' Mikayelyan said.
