Health Ministry Denies Bonuses on March 8

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia has clarified the report stating that "Minister Arsen Torosyan awarded himself around 2.5 million AMD on the occasion of March 8."

The clarification specifically states:

“In response to the article by Politik.am, titled ‘Minister Arsen Torosyan awarded himself around 2.5 million AMD on the occasion of March 8,’ I inform you that no employee of the ministry, including the minister, has received a bonus related to March 8.

At the same time, I would like to inform you that according to Article 15, Point 3 of the Law on the Structure of the Government, the remuneration of government members is determined by law.

As such, according to Article 6, Point 6 of the Law on the Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and Public Service Positions, the remuneration of persons holding state positions and public service positions can be derived from the bonus fund allocated in the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, the saved resources from the salary fund, the material incentive and development fund of the respective body, and from optimized resources for conducting experimental organization of work, as well as from other sources not prohibited by law.

Thus, employees of the Ministry of Health have received bonuses in accordance with the aforementioned laws and the current legal regulations of the Republic of Armenia.”
