Large Amounts of Ammunition and Toxic Substance Resembling Mercury Found in Yerevan

On March 16, police in Yerevan initiated an investigation under Article 118 and the first part of Article 137 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The investigative body submitted a motion to the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, requesting permission to search the home of 46-year-old Arthur Sargsyan located on Shahumyan Street 6.

According to shamshyan.com, the court granted the motion, and during the search of the associated buildings, significant quantities of items were found and seized. These included a total of twelve 12-gauge hunting firearms of the type “Magnum 58007,” a 9 mm gas pistol of the type “RECK Y-114933699” loaded with 11 cartridges, a type of pistol of unknown caliber with 4,746 records without cartridges, a revolver without a factory number loaded with 7 cartridges, 102 pieces of 12-gauge hunting cartridges, 236 pieces of various other cartridges, “Swin” knives marked with relevant records of 882 and 32 respectively, two cartridges for the 9 mm gas pistol, and four transparent glass containers holding liquids resembling toxic substances/mercury, three hunting knives, one sharp knife, a “Tir” type rifle with cartridges, and two syringes of 5 mg and 1.0 mg capacity. The 5 mg syringe contained a whitish liquid of 0.2 mg volume, while the other was empty and used.

As reported by G. Shamshyan, the criminal case initiated by the Yerevan police’s investigative division has been transferred to the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for the Malatia-Sebastia administrative districts.
