Another Major Accident Occurs in Ararat Province, Injuries Reported

Today, on March 17, a car accident occurred in Ararat Province. At around 17:50, the driver of a Toyota Camry with license plate number 92 VD 092 lost control while traveling on the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway, veering off the road and landing in a field.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, the driver and two passengers sustained bodily injuries and were transported to the hospital—one to the 'Erebuni' Medical Center and the other two to the Artashat Hospital. Rapid-response officers from the Road Police's 2nd Police Battalion, led by Commander Vahan Evinian and platoon leader Karapet Harutyunyan, arrived promptly at the scene.

Shamshyan reports that one of the main causes of the accident is the poor quality of repairs done on that stretch of road. The road repair organization has completed substandard work, leading to the formation of puddles during rain, which has become a real nightmare for drivers. Numerous accidents, including fatal ones, have occurred in that area, yet the relevant authorities have taken no measures to remedy the deficiencies.
