Who are the tenants of Public Radio? «Hetq»
The chairman of the Public Television and Radio Company, Ruben Jaghinyan, requested space from the government in 2015 for the needs of Public Radio, arguing that the radio lacked space to install equipment. However, during that time, the radio had provided rental space to seven companies in its own building.
For a long time, the management of Public Radio refused to inform "Hetq" about how much money those companies, which are tenants, pay the radio annually. The rental fees for the space leased in the state building were considered commercial secrets by the management of the radio, claiming that they were not subject to publication.
Information regarding the rental fees for the spaces leased in the Public Radio building was obtained only by sending a written inquiry to the board of the Public Television and Radio Company, arguing that the rental amounts for spaces leased in state buildings cannot be considered a commercial secret and thus are subject to publication.
Now let’s introduce who the tenants of Public Radio are, what activities they engage in within the radio's territory, and how they became tenants.
Currently, space is leased by six companies in the Public Radio building. These companies are either connected to the former director of the radio, Armenian Minister of Culture Armen Amiryan, or to "Sharm Holding".
In 2018, Public Radio received 30 million drams in rental fees. The companies renting space in the radio’s building now include "Ar Radio Intercontinental", "Avto Radio", "FM Times", "Master AIDV", "Prime Commercial", and "Sky FM".
Until February of this year, the company "Center for Public Opinion Research" LLC also rented space in the radio, which was dissolved by a government decision on January 31, 2019.
More details about who owns these companies and since what year they have been in the radio's building can be found on the Hetq website.
