In the framework of measures for the prevention and disruption of crimes, officers from the territorial divisions of the police are conducting daily educational work with the population regarding the voluntary surrender of illegally held weapons and ammunition. During the night of March 13, due to the explanatory work of officers from the Kanaker-Zeitun Division of the police, community police, and the council of veterans, a woman voluntarily surrendered a significant amount of illegal weapons and ammunition.

According to her, she found 7 automatic rifles of 7.62 mm caliber, "TOZ" and "Mosine" type rifles, machine guns, 42 grenades with detonators, a grenade launcher, and several hundred rounds of ammunition of various calibers in the storage room of one of the houses in the village of Karashamb in the Kotayk region. The house belonged to her brother, who participated in the Artsakh Liberation War and passed away in 2014.

The weapons and ammunition have been packaged and sent to the police's forensic expert division. A forensic examination has been scheduled. Materials are being prepared in the investigation department of the Kanaker-Zeitun Division of the police.
