Offshore Miners Eyeing Amulsar are Blackmailing the Armenian Government: Levon Galstyan

Environmentalist Levon Galstyan wrote on his Facebook page, "Offshore miners eyeing Amulsar are blackmailing the Armenian government and citizens, claiming they will resort to international arbitration if their issues are not positively resolved.

The crucial point here is that those registered offshore do not wish to appeal in their own name, but rather in the names of two subsidiary companies they likely established for this very purpose in 2018: Lydian UK Corporation Limited (Lydian UK) and Lydian Canada Ventures Corporation (Lydian Canada).

This once again proves that the offshore company 'Lydian International Limited' and its subsidiary 'Lydian Armenia' had no legal chance of appealing to international arbitration; therefore, they engaged in such cunning transactions. However, a question arises regarding why Armenia's previous corrupt governments granted all permits to 'Lydian Armenia', as those aforementioned newborn subsidiary companies did not even exist back then. Thus, the Armenian government and its citizens have no issue concerning any international arbitration, and this is merely the last convulsions of offshore miners. Our government simply needs to properly represent our state's and citizens' interests in any forum.
