Did Karen Karapetyan Buy a Television Company in Armenia?
Armenian media landscape continues to undergo restructuring. It has become clear to everyone that owning a media outlet can serve as a significant impetus to realize political goals (and not only) in Armenia.
For instance, the "H3" television channel will rebrand as "MoTV" by the end of March. The commercial transaction and agreements have already been finalized.
According to information from Politik.am, the "H3" television channel has been purchased by former Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan. To verify the news, the media outlet spoke with the producer of "MoTV," Artyom Harutyunyan, who denied the report, stating that Karapetyan is not funding the television channel: “No, that assumption is wrong.”
Harutyunyan also refuted the claim that the funding is coming from Russian sources. When asked if there is a name for a public financier or owner, the media outlet received the same brief answer: no.
