Blocked and Impassable Roads
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of March 7 at 10:00 AM, there are blocked and impassable roads throughout Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed to trucks with trailers and is difficult to navigate for other vehicles.
The Sotk-Karvachar highway is impassable for trucks.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
About Larsi
According to information from the Department of Roads of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles.
Construction Works Underway
On March 7, blasting works will be conducted on the section of the M-6 highway from the town of Tumanyan to the Sanahin station, causing the road segment to be closed from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Additionally, construction works are being carried out on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway from the 39th km to Bagratashen.
Alternative routes for transport have been established as follows:
- Transport within the municipalities towards the cities of Alaverdi, Vanadzor, and nearby settlements should occur via the following routes: Vanadzor-Stepantsminda-Agarak-Koghes-Aykhehat-Odzun-Alaverdi along the border with Georgia.
Since June 30, 2018, up until March 7 of this year, construction works have been taking place on the 139th km of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, causing a 200-meter section to be unilaterally closed.
