Two Teachers from Dilijan State College Charged

The investigative department of the Tavush regional branch of the RA Investigative Committee has concluded the preliminary investigation into a criminal case concerning the forgery of documents at the Dilijan State College. Charges have been brought against two teachers. This information has been provided by the press service of the RA Investigative Committee.

The investigation revealed factual data indicating that in August 2017, the master of practical training at the Dilijan State College filled out official admission applications in the names of two residents from one of the villages of Tavush region and, by forging their signatures, enrolled them in the college as students.

Subsequently, on September 12, 2017, the master again forged the students' signatures to sign contracts between the college and the students. In January 2018, once more for the purpose of falsely claiming changes in residence, he wrote fake applications requesting the release of the students from their obligations, resulting in their expulsion from the college.

It was also revealed that 14 teachers from Dilijan State College failed to record the absences of 8 students who were outside of Armenia and assigned them false grades.

Based on the data obtained during the pre-trial proceedings, one teacher from the college has been charged under the RA Criminal Code Article 325, Part 1 (7 episodes), and the second teacher under the same article (4 episodes). Notification has been made regarding the completion of the preliminary investigation, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.

As for the remaining 12 teachers, on February 27, 2019, a decision was made to terminate the criminal prosecution and not to carry out criminal prosecution due to the act of amnesty.
