Fog and Black Ice: Current Situation on Roads

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of March 5 at 10:00 AM, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers and difficult to navigate for other vehicles.

The Sotk-Karvachar and Berd-Jambarak roads are difficult to navigate for trucks.

Black ice is present in some areas on intercommunity roads in the Aragatsotn region, including Chknagh-Zoraglukh, Araqi-Vardenut, Kuchak-Tsaghkashen, and the Shirak region's Ashotik community.

In the Syunik region, there is fog in the area known as "Meghri Mountain" and in the "Chain Bend" areas.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.

About Larsi

According to information received from the Road Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepanstminda-Larsi road is open for all types of vehicles.

Construction Work is Ongoing

Construction work is being carried out from kilometer 39 of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi road to Bagratashen.

Alternative routes for vehicle traffic have been established:

For intercommunity traffic towards Alaverdi, Vanadzor, and nearby settlements:

  1. Vanadzor-Step'anavan-Agarak-Koghes-Aygehats-Odzun-Alaverdi along the route to the Georgia border.

Since June 30, 2018, up to March 5 of this year, construction work has been carried out at kilometer 139 of the Yerevan-Meghri road, resulting in a portion of approximately 200 meters being closed to traffic in one direction.
