Video: Convenient Target, They Followed, Pulled a Gun on Her, and Took Her Wallet
On February 23, around 23:30, the police received a report of a robbery in the Erebuni division. The woman who called reported that two masked individuals had threatened her with a weapon on Khorenatsi Street in the capital, took her wallet, and fled.
An operational group from the Erebuni police station was dispatched to the scene described by the victim. The woman was scared and confused. She was invited to the police station and filed a report regarding the incident.
According to the victim, around 23:00, while she was heading home, she realized that two strangers were following her behind the "Russia" cinema in the second dead-end of Khorenatsi. She quickened her pace, but the unknown individuals ran towards her and cut off her path. One of the masked strangers had a pistol in his hand. They threatened her and stole her wallet, which contained €500 and 80,000 AMD. They took the wallet and fled while she called the police.
A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of robbery.
The police immediately set to work to quickly solve the crime. To identify the masked individuals and find them on "hot tracks," detectives from the Yerevan city police and the Erebuni division acted together.
To operate more effectively, separate operational groups were formed. Nearly the entire arsenal of the police's operational activities was put into action. A range of diverse operational and investigative measures were undertaken. As a result of continuous efforts, they soon managed to trace the individuals suspected of committing the robbery.
On February 26, detectives from the Yerevan city police found the suspects on Grigor Lusavorich Street and detained them on suspicion of robbery.
The suspects were 20-year-old Yerjanik Ts. and 19-year-old Tatul P., residents of the Ninotsminda region of Georgia.
A search of their hotel room revealed a toy gun and folding knives—tools used in the crime.
The stolen wallet was also recovered.
Yerjanik Ts. and Tatul P. have been arrested.
The investigation is ongoing.
