President Armen Sarkissian Meets with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan

In the Presidential Residence, President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was reported on the president's Facebook page.

“Mr. Prime Minister, I am glad to see you again. Our traditional meetings continue. Before starting the conversation, I want to congratulate you because I have heard that your visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran was very successful. I would be happy to hear the details of that visit. In any case, the reactions I have heard – both inside the country and from some friends abroad – have been positive,” said President Armen Sarkissian.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, noted, “Thank you, Mr. President. Yes, our working meetings are periodic, and it is very important that we regularly share the information that accumulates during our various communications and working activities. And, of course, we will discuss the upcoming tasks. Yes, I consider the visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran to be very important and quite successful. Also, on Monday, I am planning to go on an official visit to Brussels to discuss further steps with our partners in the European Union.”

“We have a rich foreign policy agenda coming up. This year, we are also presiding over the Eurasian Economic Union, and one of the intergovernmental council meetings will take place in Yerevan. One of the sessions of the Supreme Economic Council will also take place in Yerevan. This entire foreign policy agenda is, of course, important for serving the purposes of our economic revolution. I am aware that you have also had certain meetings during this time that fit within this framework. It is also important to coordinate that information so that the implementation of agreements becomes more effective,” said the Prime Minister.

In response to Nikol Pashinyan, President Armen Sarkissian said, “I also have a lot to talk about with you, Mr. Prime Minister. Of course, you are aware, but I would like to share additional details with you, particularly regarding my last two visits: one to France, where the 90th plenary meeting of the Armenian General Benevolent Union took place, which I attended, and during which certain structural changes occurred in the organization. The charity union is one of our most important national organizations within the Diaspora. During that time in Paris, I, of course, had meetings as part of the framework of supporting Armenia's economic development and new technologies. There were meetings with very large French companies such as Thales, Dassault, and so on.

“The next visit was to Munich for the Security Conference, where, as you are aware, a number of political meetings took place. In addition, I also had meetings at Heidelberg University, the Technical University of Munich, and the Max Planck Institute. These meetings are also aimed at making Armenia a country of modern technologies and contributing to the rapid economic growth of our country. So we have a lot to discuss,” he added.
