Updated: Snowfall and Ground Icing on Some Roads in Armenia

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia informs that as of February 28 at 8:00 PM, snowfall is taking place on the roads of Ashtarak, Artik, Maralik, Aparan, Aragats, Dilijan, Sevan, Sisian, Goris, and Vayk regions. There is localized ground icing on the roads in the Gegharkunik region.

In the Kotayk region, there is fog with visibility reduced to 50 meters. The Vardenyats Pass is closed due to heavy snowfall and lack of visibility. Ground icing is reported on the roads of Gegharkunik, Ashtarak, and Sevan regions, particularly in the Ketti Pass and the road sections known as 'Zanger' in the Sisian area, as well as on the Artik-Alagyaz route. Road construction teams are working to clear the roads and applying salt and sand treatment.

Other interstate and republican roads are open.
