Discussion on China’s Grant Aid to Armenia

On February 28, the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Avinyan, received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China, Tian Erlun.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan emphasized that the government attaches great importance to the effective and mutually beneficial cooperation established with China and will continue to take effective steps to further develop bilateral relations.

The interlocutors discussed the deepening and expansion of Armenian-Chinese trade and economic relations, highlighting the importance of the work of the Armenian-Chinese intergovernmental commission, which will hold its next meeting in the near future. They specifically addressed the potential for increasing exports of Armenian food products and alcoholic beverages to China, as well as the implementation of new projects in the energy and transportation sectors. In the context of promoting tourism and business exchanges, the facilitation of the visa regime between the two countries was emphasized.

During the meeting, issues related to grant aid provided by China to Armenia were discussed. The parties also touched upon the issue of Armenia's potential participation in the "2nd International Exhibition of Products Imported to China," which will take place in Shanghai in November.
