There are opinions that the initiative to change the national anthem is a way for MP Alen Simonian to establish himself and remain in history. In response to a reporter from Aravot.am, Simonian stated, “What do I have to establish myself, you ask? I have been carrying out public activities in Armenia for ten years. I have no issue with self-establishment. Nor do I have a problem with remaining in history because I have already stayed in history as one of the organizers and participants of the Velvet Revolution.”
