Video: Our Region Does Not Allow Us to Live with a ‘Going with the Flow’ Mentality - Prime Minister
Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a meeting of the Republic of Armenia’s Military-Industrial Commission took place in the government.
In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated:
“In general, of course, today we have certain capabilities in the Republic of Armenia, but the scale of those capabilities, their throughput, and the actual volume of production cannot seem satisfactory or sufficient. Overall, I think that when discussing problems in this sector and in other sectors, we should not just discuss the complexities of how challenging it is to solve a certain problem, but we should formulate our goals, and all our actions should stem from the priority of achieving those goals. The geopolitical and military-political environment that currently exists in our region does not allow us to live with a ‘going with the flow’ mentality because with a ‘going with the flow’ mentality, we are simply consuming the resources we have.
We must, yes, pursue very serious, albeit unpopular, resolute solutions to ensure that there are no entities in our state system receiving public funding that are idle. The extreme eradication of idle entities is our most important task, regardless of which sector it pertains to, especially the military-industrial and technology sectors. Here, we must be able to genuinely offer technological solutions. By technological solutions, I envision the following: what matters, bluntly put, is not the tank itself but the problem we want to solve through the tank. Therefore, what matters is not the tank but the problem and its solution. Our mindset should be to find a means that will solve that problem, regardless of whether it is called a tank or something else.”
