What Has Been Anna Hakobyan's Greatest Fear for Years

“I have never advocated for my husband to find work for my close friends,” said Anna Hakobyan, the chair of the board of trustees of the ‘My Step’ and ‘City of Smile’ charitable foundations, during a meeting with reporters.

A journalist asked about Anna Hakobyan’s connections with her hairdresser and the Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, Rafik Mashadyan, to which the Prime Minister's wife responded: “When I was a journalist for 10 years, later a chief editor, I wrote materials, reports, and especially editorials that received serious criticism. I have always been afraid that I might write something that those in the offices on Baghramyan 26, or those involved in the matters I write about, would read and laugh at me. That has been my greatest fear during my journalistic career.”

Anna Hakobyan asserted that whenever she criticized or made critical statements during her journalistic activity, she verified the basis for allowing any critical statement about the government until the last drop. “I was not afraid of negative comments, potential insults towards the newspaper, but I have always thought that any word I uttered should not provide ground for anyone to laugh at what I wrote,” she concluded.
