Gagik Khachatryan Has Something to Tell the NSS: Marukyan
Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction in the National Assembly, wrote on his Facebook page:
“As early as June 2018, I expressed that Gagik Khachatryan, the former head of the State Revenue Committee and former Minister of Finance, has something to tell the NSS... Days ago, information was published in the media that approximately 8 months after my statement, Gagik Khachatryan was summoned by the NSS.
I believe that he, perceived by the citizens of the Republic of Armenia as the most corrupt official, is the official most accused of robbery by the Armenian opposition, a person who became a billionaire at the expense of the state, should have been one of the first to answer and should have long been behind bars for becoming a billionaire at the expense of the state. I hope that he will not escape accountability by donating 18.5 million dollars, and through a public, open, and transparent investigation, he will return the looted money to the state and serve time in a penal institution with a strict regime proportional to his crimes.
I believe that if we were to convert what Gagik Khachatryan has stolen into cans of stew, those cans would cover the entire geographical area of the South Caucasus.”
