Around 20 Passengers Rescued from Vehicles Trapped in Snow, One with Broken Leg
On February 18, at 19:10, the emergency service "911" received a call regarding four vehicles trapped in snow at the Vardenyats Pass in the Vayots Dzor province, requiring assistance.
A firefighting-rescue team was dispatched to the scene from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The rescue team managed to bring out a "VAZ 21014" vehicle near the 33rd kilometer of the Getap-Martuhi road.
At 19:10, the emergency service received another report about four vehicles trapped in snow at the Vardenyats Pass, prompting another call for rescue assistance. A firefighting-rescue team was sent to the location. The rescuers successfully freed four vehicles (with two passengers) from being stuck on the road at the 29th kilometer of the Martuni-Getap highway.
At 20:29, the "911" service was notified that a "Hyundai Sonata" had become stuck in snow on the Aparan-Saralanj road, requiring rescue help. A firefighting-rescue unit was sent to the scene, successfully transporting the "Hyundai Sonata" (five passengers) to Aparan city.
At 20:57, emergency responders were alerted that an ambulance had been trapped in snow near school No. 1 in Aparan. A rapid response group from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched, and they managed to free a "UAZ" vehicle.
At 21:59, another notification came in regarding a "Mitsubishi" vehicle stuck in snow at the beginning of Saralanj village in Aragatsotn province, requiring rescue services. A firefighting-rescue team was sent, successfully pulling the vehicle and its seven passengers free.
At 21:36, the "911" service was informed of a "Lexus" vehicle trapped in snow near the beginning of Lusakert village. First responders arrived and managed to rescue the vehicle with four passengers onboard.
At 21:40, a report came in about several vehicles stuck in snow near the 15th kilometer of the Tsovak-Lchavan road, where one driver had broken their leg. Emergency responders were dispatched, successfully rescuing three vehicles. One individual, identified as D.H., was transported to the Martuni Medical Center, where doctors assessed their condition as satisfactory.
At 23:25, the emergency service received information about a "Volvo" vehicle stuck in snow at the beginning of Charchakis village in Aragatsotn province, again requiring rescue assistance. A firefighting-rescue team was dispatched to the location, successfully freeing both an "Opel" (five passengers) and the trap vehicle (one passenger). The "Volvo" was taken to a gas station in Melikgyugh village.
Later at 23:25, another "Mitsubishi" became trapped in snow near the beginning of Saralanj village, prompting a new request for the rescue team. The rescuers successfully transported this vehicle, which had three passengers, to Saralanj village.
