Difficult Roads Exist, What Is the Situation in Lars

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 14 at 21:00, there are difficult roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass (only for trucks) and the Sotk-Karabakh road (black ice) are currently impassable.

Drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.

About Lars

According to information from the Department of Highways of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open to all types of vehicles.

Construction Work Underway

Construction works are being carried out on the section of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi road from km 39 to Bagratashen.

The following alternative routes for transport have been established:

For intra-community traffic to the towns of Alaverdi, Vanadzor, and nearby settlements:

1. Vanadzor-Stepanavan-Agarak-Koghes-Aighehat-Odzun-Alaverdi through the road sections to the Georgian border.

From June 30, 2018, until February 14 of this year, construction work is ongoing on the 139th km of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, resulting in a one-way closure of approximately 200 m of the stretch.
