Criminal Case Against Edvard Babayan of the Prosperous Armenia Party Sent to Prosecutor's Office
The Special Investigative Service (SIS) has sent the criminal case initiated against Edvard Babayan, a member of the National Assembly representing the Prosperous Armenia Party, to the Prosecutor's Office with an accusatory conclusion. This was reported by the SIS, according to Azatutyun.
Edvard Babayan, who is the head of the security service of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan, was arrested on July 3 of last year and subsequently imprisoned three days later. He is accused of intentionally causing serious harm to health by a group of persons or an organized group, as per Article 112, Part 2, Clause 6 of the Criminal Code.
In August, the court released Edvard Babayan on a bail of 20 million drams. He was elected as a member of parliament from the Prosperous Armenia Party during the extraordinary parliamentary elections on December 9.
