VIDEO: I Was Offered Bribes, I Refused. Minister of Finance
During a press conference at the National Assembly today, journalists asked Armenian Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan why the government used to present programs to the parliament before the sessions, but this tradition has been broken, leaving parliament members only the opportunity to make remarks and suggestions during the plenary session. Opposition lawmakers expressed such grievances.
“The government’s program is the government’s program, and the government is responsible. There cannot be a situation where the opposition has the ability to change the government’s program, yet the government remains responsible. Such a situation cannot exist; it would create a rupture. It’s about control over the program, not making changes to the program itself. By control, we mean not just any form of change, but control implies that we agree with the idea that we see ourselves as a country where the rule of rights prevails. This is also a process carried out within the framework of regulations,” he stated.
