New Generation Cash Registers Will Cost 60,000 or 160,000 Dram for Different Groups, Clarifies State Revenue Committee

The process of distributing new generation cash registers is proceeding normally. This information was released by the State Revenue Committee (SRC), which clarified which groups will receive these cash registers at a cost of 60,000 dram and which will be charged 160,000 dram.

According to the SRC's announcement, "The order issued by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee on February 5, 2019, establishing the sale price of cash registers has caused misunderstandings among various taxpayers, prompting us to clarify that the sale price for cash registers has been set at 60,000 dram for the following types of entities:

• a. Organizations, individual entrepreneurs, and notaries for whom the use of cash registers was mandatory since January 1, 2019, under the law;
• b. Organizations and individual entrepreneurs considered as family entrepreneurship since January 1, 2019;
• c. Individual entrepreneurs who received a tax exemption certificate according to the Law on Tax Incentives for Self-Employed Individuals during 2019.

It is important to emphasize that organizations, individual entrepreneurs, and notaries that are subject to turnover tax from January 1, 2019, as well as those who pay only license tax, can also acquire the new generation cash registers for 60,000 dram. The previously set price of 160,000 dram will remain for organizations, individual entrepreneurs, and notaries not mentioned above (excluding those who pay only license tax).

Moreover, we would like to inform that as of February 13, 2018, recalculations have already been completed for about 1,500 entities that had previously submitted applications for purchasing cash registers, and active work is underway to finalize the process, while an additional 1,000 applications have been approved, meaning they too will receive cash registers for 60,000 dram upon presentation.
