Closed and Impassable Roads, Black Ice

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of February 12, at 20:00, there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers, while it is difficult to pass for others.

The Sotk-Karvachar road is impassable due to black ice.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.

According to information received from the Department of Roads of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.

Construction Works Ongoing

Construction work is underway on the stretch of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi road from the 39th km to Bagratashen.

Alternative routes for transportation have been established:

Intra-community traffic towards the cities of Alaverdi, Vanadzor, and nearby settlements should follow:

1. Vanadzor-Stepanavan-Agarak-Koges-Aygehart-Odzun-Alaverdi via the sections leading to the Georgian border.

From June 30, 2018, until February 12 of this year, construction work is being conducted on the 139th km of the Yerevan-Meghri road, resulting in a section of about 200 meters being closed for one-way traffic.
