Vehicles Will Not Be Allowed to Park in Abovyan Park: Proposed Solutions
AuroraNews has repeatedly addressed not only the numerous issues related to traffic but also the lack of parking spaces, which is a critical problem in terms of the capital's overwhelming congestion.
In Yerevan, improperly parked vehicles can be seen almost everywhere. Parks are not an exception. As reported yesterday by Hetq, students' cars from the Agrarian University are being parked in violation of the law in the non-trafficked area of Abovyan Park. The media correspondent reports that at around 11 AM today, traffic police carried out operations near the second building of the Agrarian University, specifically removing vehicles that were parked in gross violation of the law from Abovyan Park.
In a conversation with AuroraNews, the traffic police stated today that they acted on the basis of a complaint but cannot maintain continuous monitoring in that area.
We also contacted the spokesperson for the Agrarian University, Sos Avetisyan, who mentioned that the university has been addressing the parking issue for quite some time. In particular, efforts are being made in collaboration with the city hall to install barriers around Abovyan Park, preventing vehicles from parking there in the future. Given that the city hall is responsible for issues related to parking and the preservation of parks, we tried to get clarifications from the relevant department, but mainly received evasive responses.
