I Will Meet If He Publicly Apologizes for His Insulting Comments Towards Me: Deputy Minister of Culture
The Deputy Minister of Culture of Armenia, Nazeni Gharebian, is willing to meet with director Hovhannes Galstyan, who is on a hunger strike. She stated on her Facebook page that she would do so if the director apologizes to her.
“Hovhannes Galstyan claims that he is raising funds from the public to start filming. What filming is he referring to, when according to the contract his production company signed with the Film Center, he should have completed filming by 2017, and then had an extended deadline until 2018?”
“As a person and citizen, I certainly empathize with his situation, but I do not accept and will not accept lies, deceit, fraud, and insults. I responded once to his desire to meet by saying I would only meet if he publicly apologizes for his insulting remarks about me. I am reiterating the same thing now,” she wrote.
Hovhannes Galstyan seeks state support for his film “My Grandmother’s Hair.” Today, February 7, he stated that he would continue his hunger strike until he raises the necessary funds for the film.
