New Head of Bagratashen Customs Removed for Misconduct, Media Reports
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that on January 21 of this year, following the discovery of another corrupt deal at the Bagratashen checkpoint by the National Security Service (NSS), Artem Harutyunyan, the head of the Bagratashen customs checkpoint, submitted his resignation.
However, it turns out that his replacement does not have a particularly stellar past either. Arman Tsolakyan has been appointed as the head of Bagratashen customs, having previously worked at the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), from where he was dismissed by former minister Davit Tonoyan for rough treatment of subordinates and rude behavior.
Employees of the MES recorded another incident and presented it to Tonoyan, who then urged Tsolakyan to submit his resignation. In an interview with "Zhoghovurd," Tsolakyan denied the incident, claiming that he left the MES voluntarily. "No, that did not happen; I have not heard such a recording," he said.
