Court Cancels Arrest of Vahagn Harutyunyan

The Court of Appeal of Armenia has today annulled the decision of the General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan regarding Vahagn Harutyunyan, lifting his arrest. The case is sent back to the first instance court for a new trial.

“I believe that the court emphasized the violations regarding the deprivation of defense rights, which the defense team had raised,” said lawyer Mihran Poghosyan, adding that they have not yet received the court's decision.

He noted that the defense team has also appealed the decision to declare a search for Vahagn Harutyunyan.
