Criminal Case Opened Against Close Associate of Arsen Torosyan
A criminal case has been initiated against Narek Vanesyan, the former director of the Nubarashen National Center for Mental Health. This was reported to 'Hraparak' by the Investigative Committee.
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has received and accepted for proceedings a criminal case initiated by the Ijevan Division of the Police under Article 178, Part 2, Items 1.1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (Large-scale fraud committed using official position). A resident of Ijevan reported to the police that the former director of Ijevan Medical Center LLC demanded and received $3,000 from him for securing employment at the mentioned medical center, but has since misappropriated the money without fulfilling the promise. The criminal case was opened on January 8, and it was accepted for proceedings by the Investigative Committee on January 16. An investigation is underway,” stated Naira Harutyunyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee.
The Investigative Committee also communicated that on January 16, a notice was sent to Vanesyan regarding his appearance before the investigative body, but up to this moment, he has not presented himself.
It is noteworthy that Narek Vanesyan is considered a close associate of the Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, who was the one to 'place' him in the mental health center.
