Vitaly Balasanyan Accepts Invitation from SIS Head Sassoun Khachatryan

Today, Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh, Vitaly Balasanyan, issued a statement regarding the comments made by the Head of the Special Investigation Service of Armenia, Sassoun Khachatryan, in response to questions from journalists on January 28 in Yerablur.

Balasanyan stated, "I have familiarized myself with the comments of Sassoun Khachatryan regarding the responses I gave to reporters on January 28. I accept his invitation to discuss the aforementioned events from a legal perspective after reviewing the case materials."

It is noteworthy that during the conversation with reporters on January 28, Balasanyan had deemed the articles related to the violation of constitutional order as laughable and had provided responses to several other questions related to March 1.

Following Balasanyan's Q&A, reporters had also posed questions to SIS Head Sassoun Khachatryan before the celebration event dedicated to the Army Day. In response to Balasanyan's statements, Khachatryan remarked:

"If he has received a reprimand, I leave it to his conscience. But if he is a serious lawyer, I invite him to come, sit down, and discuss it from a legal perspective. Do you want me to comment on Balasanyan's words? It is very bad if he has given such an assessment. I do not think that Vitaly Balasanyan is the person who can provide legal assessments."
