The Ministry of Emergency Situations Will No Longer Engage in Weather Forecasting
According to the newspaper "Zhamanak," the Armenian government intends to transfer the "Service for Active Influence on Hydro-Meteorological and Atmospheric Phenomena" from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) to the Ministry of Environment.
For this purpose, a corresponding change is proposed in the draft concerning the structure and operation of the government, stating that the responsibility for "ensuring the implementation of regime and special observations, studies, and forecasts of hydro-meteorological phenomena, as well as coordinating the work on active influence on atmospheric phenomena" will no longer lie with the MES but rather with the Ministry of Environment.
More details are available in today’s issue of the newspaper.
