Everyone at the NSS Will Have Such Jackets: 'Hraparak'
The Hraparak newspaper reports.
In recent weeks, the specially designed jacket of newly elected parliament member Hayk Sargsyan has been widely discussed, which bears his name and the word 'member of parliament'. To defend against criticism, he pointed to NSS Director Arthur Vanetsyan, asking why he isn't criticized for wearing a similar jacket.
Vanetsyan's jacket also has his name and 'NSS' written on it. Yesterday, we asked Vanetsyan about the idea behind the named jackets and why he wears one. 'I have decided to change the uniforms of NSS employees, and that named jacket is the new experimental uniform of the NSS. The uniforms of border guard personnel at passport control points will be the first to be changed since I believe that when citizens come to the Republic of Armenia, the first state employee they see is precisely those border personnel, and I think their old Soviet uniform should be changed.'
Is it a suit that should 'beautify' NSS employees? 'Yes, it should be beautiful and pleasing to the eye. This is the uniform I wear, and I believe it is very beautiful; if it weren't beautiful, not everyone would try to resemble and wear such jackets.'
Vanetsyan also mentioned that he gifted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a named jacket as a sample. According to the NSS director, different subdivisions of the system will have their own designated and distinctive uniforms.
