European Parliament Recognizes Juan Guaidó as President of Venezuela
The European Parliament has recognized Juan Guaidó, the leader of the Venezuelan opposition, as the interim president of the country. This was reported by the TASS news agency.
At the same time, the European Parliament has called on EU member states to recognize Guaidó as the legitimate president of Venezuela until new free and transparent elections can be held in the country.
The majority of European Parliament members voted in favor of the resolution regarding Venezuela, with 439 in favor and 104 against.
The resolution states that the EU does not accept any suggestion or attempt to resolve the crisis in the country through violence.
