Shortage of Vehicle Registration Certificates in Armenia: Issuing A4 Paper Instead

The newspaper 'Zhoghvorud' reports that in Armenia, it turns out that there is not only a shortage of liquefied gas but also a shortage of vehicle registration certificates, known as technical passports. For an extended period, drivers have been unable to obtain the vehicle registration certificate from the Road Police of Armenia in the form of a plastic card. Instead, the Road Police is providing them with a temporary registration certificate issued on A4 paper.

Drivers planning to travel to Georgia or Iran are expressing their dissatisfaction, noting that the temporary registration certificate is not accepted in those countries, as it is merely a piece of paper.

For comments, the 'Zhoghvorud' newspaper contacted the Deputy Chief of the Road Police, Police Colonel Arthur Tonoyan, who confirmed the information and explained that this situation is due to an unprecedented increase in the number of vehicles being imported.

“Imagine that if the state had planned X quantity of registration certificates in the form of plastic cards, we are currently facing an issue because of the unprecedented volume increase in vehicle imports,” he said.
