Pashinyan Meets Pro-Azerbaijani Politician in Russia
The "Iravunk" newspaper reported yesterday that Prime Minister Pashinyan, who was in Moscow for an official visit, did not meet with members of the Armenian community gathered in front of the Armenian Embassy, who demanded a meeting, having delivered a letter to the embassy due to serious issues they face.
According to the new law in Russia, based on its application, migrants with a driver's license from countries where Russian is not an official language, even if the country is part of the EAEU, do not have the right to engage in income-generating activities as drivers. Although the meeting with Prime Minister Pashinyan never occurred, it further aggravated Russian Armenians that Pashinyan, who could not find time for them, willingly met and had a private conversation with Nikita Isayev, the leader of the "New Russia" movement, a pro-Azerbaijani Russian political scientist known for his anti-Armenian expressions.
Notably, Isayev excitedly posts about the meeting on social media, expressing warm words. It is unclear why this pro-Azerbaijani expert was so flattered by his meeting with Pashinyan, but it certainly raises concerns, the newspaper noted.
Today, the Baghramyan 26 Telegram channel reported that it received an anonymous letter regarding the meeting, presenting details about the pro-Azerbaijani stance of the Russian political scientist.
According to the Telegram channel, Nikita Isayev is not a competent expert or a respected politician. Furthermore, he does not represent an opposition figure as he claims. His organization, "New Russia," is actually a project of the Russian presidential administration, with Isayev assigned the role of an oppositional political figure.
“However, the horrifying part of this story is that Nikita Isayev is also a pro-Azerbaijani politician. For the past three years, he has been lobbying for Azerbaijan's interests in Russia, receiving substantial payments from the Azerbaijani side in return. Before that, Isayev occasionally spoke well of Armenia without receiving money for it, but later he fell into Azerbaijan's embrace,” Baghramyan 26 reported.
The anonymous letter's author noted that Isayev's political activity mainly occurs during television shows, and his meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister diminishes the level of the Armenian leadership, while creating a joint project would significantly harm Pashinyan's reputation.
It is worth mentioning that days ago, Russian media reported that Isayev plans to visit Armenia soon and intends to establish a debate club with Pashinyan, where Armenian and Russian experts will periodically participate.
