Merkel to Host Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan

The Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, is set to host the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, on February 1. This information was confirmed by the German embassy in Armenia.

The embassy quoted the words of Federal Government spokesperson Steffen Seibert, stating, "Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel will host the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, with military honors at the Federal Chancellor's residence on Friday, February 1, 2019."

"Following the welcome, a discussion is scheduled during lunch, during which Chancellor Merkel and Prime Minister Pashinyan will exchange views on bilateral and economic relations, as well as issues related to foreign and security policy," the embassy added.

"We at the embassy are also looking forward to this visit with great interest and joy," it was stated on the embassy's Facebook page.
