Head of the State Revenue Committee Received 23 Million 291 Thousand Drams in Salary and Equivalent Payments

The investigative newspaper "Hetq" reports today that the head of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), Davit Ananyan, has submitted his property and income declaration for 2018 to the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials. Davit Ananyan was appointed SRC president by government decree on May 18, 2018. Prior to that, he held the position of deputy minister of finance.

According to the declaration, he received a total salary and equivalent payments of approximately 23 million 291 thousand drams from two sources. According to Armenian law on the remuneration of persons holding public office and state service positions, the monthly salary rate for a deputy minister is 562,190 drams, while that for the SRC president is 793,680 drams.

This means that Davit Ananyan worked as a deputy minister for about 5 months during the reporting year, receiving a total salary of around 2 million 810 thousand drams, and served as SRC president for 7 months. The salary accrued over 7 months as SRC president was approximately 5 million 555 thousand drams. Thus, Davit Ananyan's net salary for the year amounted to around 8 million 365 thousand drams, which includes taxes.

However, it is noted that Davit Ananyan declared an amount that is approximately 14 million 924 thousand drams more than his monthly salary, which has originated from salary or equivalent payments.
