Changes to Enable Poor People to Engage in Business Activities

Changes to Enable Poor People to Engage in Business Activities

Economic reforms have begun in Armenia. We aim to transform last year’s political revolution into an economic revolution as well. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with Euronews in Davos.

According to him, in order for poor people to also engage in business activities, a new type of activity is being defined through amendments to the Tax Code — microbusiness, which will be exempt from all types of taxes. “Thus, we want to encourage our citizens to demonstrate business activity,” he notes.

He also referred to Armenia's foreign policy issues, emphasizing the exclusion of drastic changes in foreign policy. “We are a member of the EEU. This is very important for our citizens and provides a large market for Armenian businesses. We also have a Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the European Union, which we intend to implement,” Pashinyan says.
