Levon Kocharyan Responds to 'Boat Rocker' Post on March 1

A post by Vilen Gabrielyan, a member of the 'Civil Contract' party, on his Facebook page, along with the accompanying photo, has sparked a significant reaction online. In the comments, Levon Kocharyan, son of Robert Kocharyan, responded by stating:

“You have your perception of the events and the reasons behind them, and I have mine. You say you know certain things, and I know what I know. By playing with people's grief and sensitivities, you reaped your political dividends while resorting to base actions to shirk your own blame, and this behavior falls right within that category. I’m sure you heard the leader of those gathered expressing satisfaction in a phone call on March 2. You probably also know that he refused to step down from authority and stand with the people on March 1. And the one who left halfway through, I believe you are aware of that too. And you dare to speak boldly? We have never fled from anything. In life, I’ve never had a bodyguard, nor have I had a problem leaving my city, neither back then nor now. If you were interested in that question, you could have always asked, rather than waiting for the situation to change.

Let’s put an end to these emotional cheap tricks, at least now. Go find both the arsonist and the one who issued the orders; talking in the air will no longer suffice.”

Vilen Gabrielyan responded, stating:

“Do you know what the most interesting thing is? That you are right. Talking without action is not enough; however, it is very important when a person speaks, just not in your case and not now. Because you only began to speak when justice knocked at your door. Who was stopping you from speaking out loud during a time when it was needed most, especially since, based on your understanding, you know many truths? I don’t think you lacked courage. So, why didn’t you speak up? Why didn’t you ask your father, ‘Well, Levon is bad, Nikol is bad, they're fighting over chairs, but what about the hundreds of people you have filled prisons with? What have they done to us?’ Why didn’t you ask, ‘Father, could it be that the public's protest against us is justified? Could we have been the bad ones for the people, which is why they are against us?’

In short, thank you for your advice. I assure you, we will find both the arsonist and the one who issued the order, as well as the one who signed at the bottom, and everyone related to them without exception. No emotional cheap political tricks will save anyone, no one at all.”
