Armenian-Diploma Doctors Can No Longer Work in Israel
In the near future, medical diplomas obtained in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Armenia, and other post-Soviet countries (except for the Baltic States) will be deemed invalid in Israel. This information has been reported by the Vesty publication, adding that medical certificates from Eastern European countries (such as Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, etc.) will not be accepted either.
According to the new regulations, only those doctors who have received medical education in countries that are members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), or who have undergone qualification courses at institutions accredited by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), will be allowed to take qualification examinations.
These strict measures in the healthcare system are a response to a scandal that occurred last year when officials from several medical and pharmaceutical universities in Armenia were accused of issuing fake diplomas.
