Ways to Monitor the Government Exist, You Will See Soon: Armen Ashotyan

In politics, a mandate cannot replace thought and value system. This was stated by the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, on his Facebook page.

He specifically wrote:

“Although the political activities that I and my party colleagues have started this week are extra-parliamentary from a political positioning perspective, I have succeeded in shaping the priorities of the country’s political agenda as follows:

  1. My detailed analyses on the issues of ratifying and implementing the EU-Armenia agreement have received a strong public response, with numerous comments from international and local experts, and the newly elected president of the National Assembly was forced to agree with my criticism.
  2. The suggestion to make a statement in the National Assembly regarding the massacres of Armenians in Baku was brought to life.
  3. The latest meeting of the OSCE Minsk Group and the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which has raised numerous concerns and has remained off the radar of the new National Assembly, has been subjected to public alarm and has become a point of public-political discussion.

The conclusion is simple: in politics, a mandate cannot replace thought and value system. If there is something to say, it can be delivered to the people even without a parliamentary podium.

And there are indeed ways to monitor the government, you'll see that soon.
