VIDEO: Customs Committee Conspiring Against Pashinyan – Protest by Car Importers
Car importers are once again staging a protest. This time, the participants have gathered in front of the government building, but their demands remain the same.
“The protesters constantly bring up the example of Georgia, where car importers pay approximately 30,000 drams per vehicle in taxes. We have now drafted two options, allowing them to pay as much as they want, that is, 30,000 to 40,000 drams. This means the issue has been resolved, both options have been presented to the Prime Minister, and a final decision will be made soon; it may go along with the Tax Code or could enter the National Assembly sooner,” said Nairi Sargsyan, assistant to the Prime Minister, during a conversation with reporters, adding that individuals will no longer have to register cars under the names of their neighbors or relatives.
It has been decided that car importers will pay 1.5% instead of the 20% income tax. Nevertheless, car importers are still dissatisfied.
