Armenian Taxi Driver Arrested in Moscow for Firing at Passengers

An Armenian taxi driver has been arrested in Moscow, Russia, for firing at passengers. This was reported by Комсомольская правда.

The driver is a 48-year-old citizen of Armenia, temporarily residing in the Odintsovo district near Moscow. He was legally permitted to carry a firearm.

Currently, a case has been initiated against him under the “Hooliganism” article, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison. As a preventive measure, he has been ordered to sign a statement not to leave the city.

Recall that the incident occurred on January 11. A young couple approached a taxi stand near a shopping center late at night to get home. They had previously agreed on a fare, but later the taxi driver changed his mind and demanded more than the agreed amount. This led to an argument between them, after which the driver got into his vehicle and drove away.

After driving about twenty meters, he returned to the passengers, exited the vehicle, drew his firearm, and fired at them. The couple attempted to flee. Fortunately, none of the driver’s shots hit anyone. Moments later, he drove away.
