Explosion in a Residential Building in Tbilisi: Casualties Reported
An explosion occurred this evening in one of the nine-story residential buildings in the northern district of Tbilisi, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuring five others. This information is reported by the TASS agency, citing a representative from Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Preliminary information indicates that the explosion was caused by a natural gas leak. According to the ministry representative, residents of the impacted entrance were evacuated. The explosion shattered windows and damaged walls within the building.
The injured have been transported to the hospital, which includes three children. The country’s Minister of Health visited the injured at the hospital. Present at the scene are Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze.
