Winds Cause Destruction in Gavarr City

During January 15-16, destructive winds recorded in Gavarr city caused significant damage to local businesses. According to the Gavarr municipality, the winds tore off and threw down roofs from two apartment buildings on Kabelagortsner Street, one private house in the Artzvakar neighborhood, and the roof of a livestock barn in the Sovietnikler neighborhood.

“The roof of one apartment building on Kabelagortsner Street is completely destroyed, while another is about 70 percent damaged. The roofs of the private house in Artzvakar and the barn on Sovietnikler Street are also completely destroyed. Two vehicles have also been damaged. Fortunately, there are no casualties or injuries. Nevertheless, the damage to businesses is significant. A relevant committee established in the Gavarr municipality is calculating and assessing the estimated extent of the damage caused by the winds, and the results will be presented for consideration by the regional committee,” stated Grigor Boshyan, the deputy mayor of Gavarr.
