Man Cuts His Wrist Due to Lack of Funds for Dog's Treatment

An extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan.

According to shamshyan.com, around 00:35 on January 10, the emergency situation ministry's rescue service and the police operational management center in Yerevan received a call that a citizen had self-harmed by cutting the veins in his wrist with a knife in an apartment on Dro Street in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district.

A police operational group, along with an investigator from the investigative department, went to the hospital. Rescuers and a rescue psychologist, as well as a team of emergency doctors, also arrived at the scene.

It was determined that the resident of the mentioned apartment, 54-year-old Vardan D., was transported to the hospital with a diagnosis of cut veins, and doctors informed the law enforcement officers that he was not in a condition to provide explanations.

According to preliminary information, Vardan D.'s 22-year-old son alerted the authorities about the situation, and law enforcement has information suggesting that the father took this drastic action because he was unable to find funds for his dog's surgery.
