Charges Filed Against Man Who Threatened Pharmacy Employee with Toy Knife
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has completed the investigation into the case of a robbery against a pharmacy employee in Yerevan. Charges have been filed against a resident of Yerevan, born in 1982.
The investigation revealed various circumstances related to the incident, including the motive, through a comprehensive and objective inquiry.
According to the factual data obtained during the pre-trial proceedings, the suspect, a 1982-born resident of Yerevan, entered a pharmacy operating under a private company in the Avan administrative district on November 14, 2018, around 00:30. He threatened the pharmacy employee with a toy knife, demanding money, and managed to steal 157,000 AMD before fleeing the scene.
A criminal case was initiated on November 14, 2018, under point 4 of part 2 of Article 175 of the RA Criminal Code.
Based on the evidence gathered, the act was requalified, and the 36-year-old man has been charged under part 3 of Article 175 of the RA Criminal Code. He has been placed under arrest as a measure of restraint.
The criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor in charge of monitoring the legality of the pre-trial investigation with a prosecutorial conclusion.
