VIDEO: Pashinyan on Meeting with Putin

“The main topic of today’s conversation was the strategy for the further development of our relations. The discussions primarily focused on this strategy, and I can state that we have complete understanding of what strategic direction the development of the relations between our two countries should take. Overall, this discussion was a summary of the discussions that have taken place so far, essentially summarizing these past eight months and discussing how the collaboration between the authorities of the two countries should proceed. I must say that the atmosphere of the meeting was positive,” said acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking about his visit to Russia during a live broadcast on his Facebook page.

Pashinyan noted that their meetings with the President of the Russian Federation occur quite frequently, which reflects the particularities of their relations.

He also mentioned that not all agenda items had been discussed, as is often the case.

Addressing questions raised in the press, the acting Prime Minister stated:

“We did not discuss anything regarding the resolution of the Karabakh issue. We had a brief discussion regarding the current situation in the CSTO. Our position is that we need institutional solutions to ensure that there are amendments to the CSTO charter so that such debates do not occur due to a lack of regulation. There was also a brief conversation regarding the allied nature and content of the organization.

There is no decision on the gas issue; discussions will continue in a working order.”
